Another year, another round of fund raising for JDRF. I am out raising Rob and almost caught Annette. Yeah for me. Would you please donate to me?

There was a restaurant that wanted to deny me entrance because I was a dog. I won’t mention the name of the establishment yet since we complained to management. Both Annette and Rob got very upset and defended me and my rights. Made me happy and proud!
Eventually, we were allowed to dine but the guy who let me stay with Rob and Annette made it feel like it was his decision whether or not I went in. No way. I’m allowed by the ADA to go everywhere Rob and Annette go.
Otherwise, Thanksgiving was good. I got to see the kids and they wore me out. Annette’s nieces and nephews are full of energy and run me around alot. Kinda like Bailey does to Loki.
Here’s a shot of Loki to let you know how she looks. It is the best I could find of her lately. I need to have Rob take some shots of her for our photo albums.
I went to San Francisco again for two days of training. Rita taught me how to heel better, ignore other dogs (although I have lots of work here and alert better. After training on Sunday, the three of us went to the city and I rode my first street car. We went to Fisherman’s Wharf and basically lounged around. I did get a new sweater to help keep me warm.
More later….
Today, we did another JDRF walk, this one at Dodger Stadium.
We arrived around 9a and went from tent to tent. Boy, this one was HUGE! Rob said there wa 15K people or more and everywhere we went, there were people and diabetics. They were much more controlled than when I went to San Diego for a Taking Control of Your Diabetes convention. Maybe type-1 kids take care of diabetes better than old type-2 diabetics. Who knows? All I can tell you is that it smelled better.
During the walk, we went around inside Dodger Stadium. I thought it was Doger Stadium. Ha-ha. Anyway, Annette and I took a picture inside Dodger stadium where few dogs get to wander the field.
Tonight, I can barely stay awake since we walked around the stadium once and the tents all day.
Occasionally, I get a day off from the alert dog grind. Annette was going furniture shopping with Aunt Cathy and then to a hockey game with Rob without coming home. I stayed home since I’m not much of a hockey fan. What a fun day it was!!! I stayed home with Rob and went to lunch with him when he went out. I hung my head out the window and let the wind hit my face. I slept in the sun much of the day and spent some time with Bailey.
Who is Bailey? He is the big orange cat that lives with me at Rob and Annette’s house. Did I say big? I mean BIG! He is probably twice the weight of me. Yikes. Here’s a picture of him a couple of months ago.
It is Halloween and it appears that I won’t have to wear any stupid doggie outfits that everyone finds so cute. You know the type. The ones that small dog owners love and the dogs hate. Thanks to the Dog God for this one.
Today is my shower day. After this weekend of walking in the dirt and raising all that money for JDRF, I sure can use one. My favorite part of the shower is shaking like a maniac after we are done. It makes Rob laugh because I wind up my body and then uncoil it like a big spring. I think he also laughs because I look like a giant fuzz ball. Fortunately, Annette is nice to me when I get out of the shower and she holds me very tight because I usually shiver when I first get out. She also gives me a treat. Yum!
I just finished my JDRF walk in Agoura Hills. Our team raised about $500 for diabetes research and we had a good day. Annette, Rob, Aunt Cathy, and GrM and GrP Haskins were there today. There were a number of other dogs there but I was the only service mutt. Lots of people asked Annette about me and I had my own banner.
Notice the really cool picture of me on my own banner. Notice that I got top billing, too. I guess I’m a top dog! Woof!
Today, after trying to alert Annette to Highs going Low for weeks she got it. I guess it was too confusing that I was doing a nudge for test, followed by a nudge for high, and followed by a paw to indicate lower. I guess it was too complicated. I think she understands now.
We just spent 11 days back east for a little visiting and for a Play Therapy conference for Annette. We are exhusted and I’ll write more later on our trip back to Virginia.
We are in Las Vegas for Frozen Fury XII. Annette and Rob love hockey. Every summer, we come up to Las Vegas to go to the preseason hockey game between the Kings and the Avalanche. This year, I got to go to the hotel with them!!! Woo-hoo. They did leave me in the room for the game but I was ok. I chewed on my bone and watch PBS mystery theater until they returned. The Kings must’ve won since they were very happy!
I also went to a poker tourney put on by Luc Robatille. Well, I didn’t get to play but I did get to hang out and meet this really cool guy named Brad Norton. Rob told me that he played for the Kings a few years back. Brad told me how handsome and well behaved I was being last night. He was a BIG guy, about 3 inches taller than Rob and all muscle. Yikes. He had a couple of dogs of his own.
